Dr. Susan Hanson, HBTS founder, has more than 30 years of experience in interpretive,
master and strategic planning, collections management, project planning, archives
management, public program planning and research. She founded HBTS in 2001 to provide
consulting services to history museums, historic sites and cultural institutions.
Extensive professional experience includes her role as the director and assistant
director of living history farm museums in both Texas and Virginia; her involvement
with the Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums since 1983
and serving as President of the organization from 1999-2001; as well as the authorship
of numerous scholarly publications.
