Susan Atherton Hanson was a contributor to the to the two volume work , World of A Slave: Encyclopedia of the Material Life of Slaves in the United States, published by Greenwood, an imprint of ABC/ CLIO LLC, in 2011. The encyclopedia includes entries on almost every aspect of that material culture of American slavery. Dr. Hanson researched and wrote entries on cloth, clothing allotments and dependencies.
