JAR Archives
The Archives is a collection of 3105 historic records documenting the life and times of a prominent mid-twentieth century civil servant and, to a lesser extent, her family, friends and associates. Family members found the documents in boxes and drawers at her residence in 2005. They decided to make them electronically accessible to her extended family and, ultimately, to place the original materials in an appropriate repository. To make this happen, History Behind the Scenes processed and organized the documents, entered information about every one into a Microsoft Access database, scanned each document electronically to create readable images and created the search engine to make the database and scanned images accessible to users. This was a project for a private client.
