SUSAN ATHERTON HANSON, Principal and founder of
history behind the scenes brings skills - honed
during a long career in history museums - to her personal history projects. Hanson, who
holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland/College Park, launched
her career at the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of American History. She later served as President of the Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM)
In 2001, I founded history behind the scenes, a consulting service for history museums, historic sites and cultural institutions. My interest in personal history began several years later when I received a contract to organize the extensive archives of a prominent government intelligence official with a fascinating life story. Now, I apply this expertise to your story, bringing it to life in printed or electronic media.
